WE’RE ON THE LOOK-OUT FOR A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT / PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER

Location: Liverpool / Manchester

Salary band: up to £34K pa

We’re a fast-paced, 28-strong integrated brand and communications agency with big ambitions for growth in 2021. With offices in Liverpool and Manchester, we’re looking for a talented, ambitious Business Development Manager to join our growing multi-disciplinary team.

With a national client portfolio that spans a wide variety of sectors, you’ll be building strong relationships with a range of diverse clients.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THIS ROLE…

  • Monitoring potential business opportunities and acting on them efficiently, liaising with colleagues and appropriate partners where necessary.
  • Ensuring that we are on all relevant frameworks and tender portals to maximise our ability to seek suitable tender opportunities.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with local authorities and other businesses, both public and private sector, in-line with our target markets.
  • Timely planning, management and completion of allocated selection questionnaires and tender submissions through the various stages of procurement processes.
  • Planning, drafting, writing and coordinating responses to bids and briefs set by clients and prospective clients.
  • Ensuring all written documentation relating to bids and tenders is of high quality and accuracy.
  • Working closely with the wider team and constructing relevant answers that clearly answer a brief’s requirements and portray Agent appropriately.
  • Building internal and external relationships with individuals in order to create quality bids that best represent the Agent’s services.
  • Managing each bid as a mini-project and ensuring that all tasks are assigned to relevant team members and actioned in a timely manner along with bid deadlines.
  • Reviewing and evaluating each unsuccessful bid to share constructive feedback and lessons learned with colleagues.
  • Acting as a representative of Agent at local, regional and national forums, providing feedback back to colleagues in-line with our aims and objectives.
  • Presenting information in a meaningful, useful and understandable way to both internal and external stakeholders.

YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE…

  • An ambitious, passionate and driven personality.
  • An existing network of business contacts across the Liverpool City Region and the North West of England.
  • Excellent and confident communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to identify potential opportunities that will benefit the Agency.
  • A willingness to travel to meetings and events across the UK on behalf of Agent.
  • Experience of working in and/or knowledge of the following industries:
    • Government / public sector
    • Tech / innovation
    • Energy / low carbon
    • Transport / connectivity
    • Health
    • Education
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with solid editing and proofing ability.
  • Experience of writing and developing sales proposals.
  • An approach to work that is deadline driven with effective time management skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a busy and varied environment.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise workload and work well under increasing pressure.
  • Experience of working as part of a team to develop bids for large contracts.
  • The ability to demonstrate effective bid writing skills.
  • Knowledge of the marketing industry and experience of working in an agency is desirable but not essential
