The Hole Story
There has been a soggy atmosphere in our boardroom of late. Stains mysteriously appeared on the carpet and after much investigation it transpires that the culprit was in fact water seeping into our building, not beverage revelry as first suspected. Finding the source of this leak has taken numerous rodding expeditions, cameras down drains and the general piecing together of what lies beneath our ex-molasses warehouse turned Agent HQ.
Our superb landlords have been tenacious in getting to the bottom of the problem, keeping us informed and using their considerable experience to identify the problem, even letting us choose the new carpet that replaced the soggy one that was returning back to nature via the rotting slowly route.
Standing head and shoulders above the plumbers, camera men and sonar technicians who resolved the issue have to be the men who dug the hole, all twelve feet deep of it using a spade and muscle.
I dug a pond once, by hand, in my soon to be someone else’s garden, all of 3 feet deep a few years back. I laboured, complained and sweated for a weekend, I had always been proud of my efforts until witnessing the guys who found the pipe below our warehouse.
So this blog is for Mark and Pete of UKDN, who have worked relentlessly to sort the problem out for us. Craftsmen with spades, who dig (and fill in) a mean hole.
