Jotter anyone?
I'm not a fan of marketing materials. A marketer which has a distaste for marketing materials? Yes, that's me.
Why is that then? Well, to be honest, I get so much rubbish through the post, and also handed to me, that very little of which actually survives the recycling bin. What a waste.
Even we, a marketing agency, haven’t gone to town on creating a load of materials to promote ourselves. In fact, our only real investment in marketing materials has been the creation of a certificate (read our email disclaimer by emailing paul@agentmarketing.co.uk to see how to qualify) – even these were not printed, but electronic in their form. We do have to consider the environment after all.
Now, I am not against all marketing materials, no! Please don’t position me as merely a tree-hugging philanthropist – that would be wrong. What I do want is marketing materials that I can use, that will help me and which keep me interested.
One of our longest standing and much loved clients, wanted to create a brochure to promote her offering to potential parents of the nursery. Did we design and print one? No! What we did create was a children’s height chart for the wall, that promoted the services on offer, the key messages to be communicated and which was functional, fun, and of course ethically produced. Needless to say, they went down a storm.
And here comes the shocking bit. This week we created our very first lot of marketing materials since our inception in 2006 – let me introduce the Agent Marketing desk pad. Functional, environmentally aware and of course, promotional in its form. And the exciting bit is that they are now available for each and every one of you desk drivers to utilise. What’s more, the carbon footprint of its transportation is also nil – you pick them up, or if we are passing we will drop one in by foot. Fancy one? Drop your order* to paul@agentmarketing.co.uk
*Sustainable fun, subject to availability.
