Thou shalt have a fishy
Yet recently, there has been a feeling; nay, an unspoken and unconscious collective thought we must try harder to strike a healthy balance towards our in-office sustenance. More of us are bringing in sarnies and salads and grub from home in an effort to cut out the
e-numbers and preservatives that are found in many pre-prepared foods. It’s also a massive cost saving. My lunch bill alone each week can range anywhere from £25 to bankruptcy so I’ve turned a leaf and got myself organised, I make my munch and bring it into work.
Today though, there seemed to be a theme of Pesco-Vegatatrianism. Adam brought in a fish pie, lovingly prepared by Youngs (
and David Beckham apparently).
I, in keeping with my attempts to stay healthy and get fit, brought in savoury rice, with a medley of vegetables and poached Pollock. It wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t have ordered it given a choice.
But the Agent who wins the sea farer inspired lunch goes to
Ben. After preparing my ‘delicious’ and nutritious lunch I bumped into Ben carrying something familiar and something that sparked an episode of
food envy. In his hand was a
Lobster Pot bag, containing: sausage, chips, rice and gravy. Ok, not technically a fish course but it did come from a FISH and chip shop.
What’s more, to finish off his
chippy tea was a pack of the timeless Chipsticks. Ben, you are an inspiration to us all!
