Want to keep up to date with what’s happening at Agent Marketing, who we are working with, and generally what is keeping us amused at Agent HQ? You do? Great, well let us introduce you to the Agent blog. It’s Agent Marketing in electronic form; new, innovative and as good as we have always been…

Can Cook, Will Cook

Although I have always had an interest in baking cakes and cookies, scratch that - biscuits, I have only recently begun to venture into the world of actually cookery. I mean, I’ll whip up the old faithful chilli con carne, spag bol, or cottage pie but I tend to stay away from the proper cooking. You know, pastry, risotto, curries and various other culinary delights that have the chance of going horribly, horribly wrong.

Enter stage left, Can Cook Studio, a fantastic 20 place professional cookery school and one of our new public relations clients. Having gone through a full marketing strategy overhaul with the ‘lads’ of Agent HQ, the Studio is now raring to go – starting with the launch of their new cookery timetable, and I have been one of the lucky Agents helping them to do so. Seeing the passion of the Can Cook team has triggered an enthusiasm for cooking in me and after seeing what they can do in the studio I have been trying out a number of delicious concoctions from their latest recipe book, Takeaways.

To date I have made, and made well may I add, Can Cook’s Thai green curry with coconut jasmine rice, marinated pork skewers with nasi goring, chicken tikka masala, chicken quesadillas with spicy Cajun potato wedges, Tony’s two tin curry (brilliantly easy!) and prawn chow mein (the first time I’ve cooked prawns – previously afraid of giving myself and others food poisoning). I have to say that I’m quite pleased with myself, although my new cooking fixation does seem to be sprouting some negative consequences.

My love of shopping, specifically that of home interiors and kitchen gadgets, is something that I have never been able to deny and my new love of cooking has inspired an urge for all kinds of new kitchen GEAR! New pots, griddle pans, pretty mixing bowls, food processors, massive knives – you name it, I want it! I feel that my kitchen cupboards need to be filled with gear fit for Masterchef. A trip to the TK Maxx homeware department ended in misery as my flatmate had to use physical force to remove me from the pot isle (there was a pink one I had my eye on). Sad times indeed.

However, I’ll keep my chin up and mouth full with yummy home cooked food until I have completed the cookbook, perhaps acquiring a kitchen accessory or two along the way. Photos of my gastronomic creations coming soon…hopefully in a pink pot!
