Everyone thinks I hate Apple – not true, my outbursts on the iPhone last summer were driven by the frustration of my mobile provider not understanding the basic premise that not everyone wants a two year contract, and not everyone wants an iPhone when buying a smart phone.
I ended up getting the Nokia N97. Fast forward 6 months and this August I will start to covet another handset as my 12 month contract is up. I have to say swapping providers was a bad move and ownership of a N97 has been frustrating and extremely useful in equal measure, but that’s not what I want to talk about here.
Simon one of the uber-creatives at Brava Design was telling me to hold off on the purchase of a Mac Book Pro as the launch of the Apple Tablet/Slate/Palette/Guide (insert I before every potential name) was imminent.
I hadn’t heard of this device as the Apple-Store doesn’t mention it. A quick search on Google gives 17,300,000 results (in 0.13 seconds incidentally) for Apple Tablet. Apple has released little information about the device other than an invite to the launch, most of the results are speculation, mocked up pictures/videos or third parties pledging support.
Thanks to the internet and its Fan boy base, we have entered a new realm of user-generated speculative PR, Say nothing and the world gives its opinion. Genius
